The intention of this electronic media guide is to help journalists easily access practical information that will guide them in their interactions with the military.

It provides useful information and links to add practical context to the coverage of U.S. military affairs.

This manual should assist the journalist in gaining access to the military, deciphering military jargon, garnering information concerning military hardware and on how the military trains its members to interact with journalists.

Becoming acquainted with the mechanisms of the military is important in lending context and clarity to a journalist’s story, an important bridge in informing the public.
